What I Want to Be

source

Day 17 - What do you want to be when you get older?

Excellent question, I ask myself this too. Deciding this sounds scary, and I don't understand how people do it. I guess either you decide on something early and change it later, or you don't decide until you do whatever it is and make your choice then. I don't know.

I want to have a long-term job, maybe one that focuses on doing good for people. Something with a definitive purpose beyond making money.

I want to be a 'grandma' to a young person. Maybe a relative, maybe a friend. But I want to make them cookies and listen to them and give them advice and hugs and grumble about back in my day.

I want to either have an area of expertise or know a bunch of obscure facts about a lot of things. Like to be well read or a pinterest-perfect crafter or have a quote for any occasion or be the one people go to when they've been wondering something weird.

Do you have any aspirations, career or otherwise?

  1. Agreed, I think the choice on what one wants to be is a hard one for many. I'm one of the few who knows what they want (for the most part) career-wise, but most people I know don't know/have changed it.
I think the kind of job you want sounds like a good choice for you, and I hope you get it :)
I also think you already are that kind of person you are referring to, and I think you will continue to be one as you get older :)

  2. Yeah, sorry that's a bit of an unfair generalization. I'm still kind of confused how this all works. :/
Thank you very much. :) :)

  3. HI GRANDMA! *waves enthusiastically*
I really like this post...like, those are actually some really good goals, and they fit you perfectly. I'm not sure what the perfect job for you would be since there are so many to choose from, but I bet you'll find something and through that, help people as best you can :)
P.S. I want some cookies and I wanna hear you grumble about back in your day. xDDD

    1. Hello dear :)
      Thank you <3 I hope I can. :))
P.S. Well back in my day we couldn't look up cookie recipes on the internet, we had to get them from someone else or a cookbook. The best one is still on the chocolate chip bag.
